SSD Testing Best Practices

The goal of any testing discipline is to ensure that the test methodology is deterministic, that the test conditions are properly controlled and that the test results are accurate, repeatable and verifiable.  SSD Performance test and measurement is highly dependent on: 1) Write History; 2) Test Stimulus; and 3) Test Environment.

NAND Flash based SSD testing requires SSD specific test methodologies, the proper Hardware / Software environment and a known and repeatable test stimulus.   The use of proper test equipment, test software and test procedures is critical in gathering and reporting SSD performance behaviors.
